Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure

Another item that I received complimentary for testing and review from Influenster... Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure Nails!

Now, don't be fooled, I really put off using these nails - I came up with all kinds of excuses on why I didn't want to put them on.  I don't wear nails for one, I feel like I don't function in them well, I am a personal trainer and I was afraid of a renegade plastic nail flying across the gym, and the list goes on.

But I eventually found an excuse to put them on thanks to a Tim McGraw concert that I was headed to and took the leap.  I have to say they were easy to apply I had no issues at all picking out sizes that matched my nail beds well.  I used the included alcohol wipe to clean, peeled the back off and pressed on!  Done.

They looked great, the design I received was not one that I would have chosen myself but it was still very pretty, I got compliments on them for days. they wore well and I really forgot they were there.  They lasted about 4 days and I'm sure would have made it longer had I not been on a kayaking trip - I think the extended time in the water at the sandbars helped the glue turn loose.  No damage to my natural nails at all though!

Critiques that I had about the nails - I would have liked a shorter length (I did see that they are available in various lengths) There was a slightly annoying tiny little tab at the end of the nail that I wasn't sure if I should try to file off or let it wear down, they felt slightly flimsy but I'm also an active blow & go kind of person, and the only other thing was the glue, it held really well but due to my natural nails being super short there was glue exposed on the underside that caught a lot of yucky looking stuff under there.

All in all I do like them though they are going to be perfect for those events where you need to dress it up a little bit and don't want to drop the cash or the time for a set of nails.  I also think it's really cute that you can mix and match.  24 nails come in the adorable little package so theoretically if you are up for a little variety, after purchasing a few sets you can end up with a bonus set with your leftovers!!

Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Gelastic

So when I finally got in my VoxBox from Influenster I was so excited, it was my very first one and I was pumped to get to try some new things!  I have to admit I was a little sad that I didn't receive the Dust It from Schwarzkopf since I thought that surely that would be the best product for my hair which is thin and fine and certainly can use some help with a little texture.  (and I have to say that I received this product complimentary for testing and review purposes from Influenster.)

Oh Well, carry on!  I went about my routine and before drying I worked in a little Gelastic and styled as usual.  Now let me clarify 'style as usual' there are 2 options here.  One is brush and dry for work (at the gym) so that means who cares and it's just going in a ponytail as soon as I make it out into the heat and humidity anyway so let's not kid ourselves.  Option two is I actually make an attempt at some volume- hairspray, teasing and the works.  Texas hair; I've been accused of wearing a bump-it on occasion.

Final result I was quite happy.  I tried something I would not have normally tried and had great results.  No flyaways or frizzies, plenty of hold and texture and no crispy hair even though it's as straight as a board.  Thumbs up Schwarzkoph!
